‘Superhero’ hangs up his cape after beating from yobs

A SELF-STYLED “superhero” has hung up his cape after two years of crime-fighting – after he was beaten up by yobs.

Roger Hayhurst, 20, was set upon by a gang of thugs who left him with a badly swollen face.

They attacked him after recognising him as the “Knight Warrior” while he was on a walk with his fiancée.

Roger, who used to break up fights and tackle anti-social behaviour in Salford, Greater Manchester, decided to hang up his custom-made £200 blue-and-black Lycra Suits after the assault.

He said: “We were recognised when we were walking through Salford and some lads started punching me. My face was all swollen up.

“After that I still dress up and occasionally patrol but I mainly dress up for charity appearance.”
